What to wear

While we know most of you don’t require any specific direction on this, we wanted to make sure we had an official answer for anyone that might be uncertain if there is a theme or expectation for attire.

First, there is no specific theme per se. The reception is styled as a cocktail party. “Elegant” is a good word to use when putting together your ensemble. This is not the night to try out your tshirt-and-jacket with the socks-and-sandals power combo.

While the groomsmen will all be wearing kilts, this is not specifically a Scottish-themed wedding. You are more than welcome to wear one as well, but it is not expected or required.

This is an open-air event. Despite being an August date, be prepared for the evening to cool off as the night wears on. The ground is unpaved, please consider this if you’re planning on wearing a dress or slacks that might touch the ground.

Some of the dancing may occur on the bare ground. While firm, it may be soft enough for pointed heels to dig in. Kelly recommends considering this addition to your attire if you are concerned about your heels.
